Frank Edward (Eddie) Wilson Sr., of 105 Filbert St., passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital Systems.

A native of Gaffney, he was the husband of Melanie D. Wilson and son of Frank Wilson Jr. of Columbia and the

late Anna Mae

Spencer Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a self-employed contractor and a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the U.S. Marines.

Also surviving are a son, Frank E. Wilson Jr. of the home; two daughters, Dr. Jennifer Jean Wilson of Spartanburg and Krystal Lynn Wilson of the home; two sisters, Theresa Pack of Columbia and Carolyn Pitts of Elgin; and one grandson, Joseph Raymond Peterson Wilson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 1-2 p.m. at East Gaffney Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Dr. Bobby Morrow and the Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gordon, Ricky Gordon, John Mertz, Billy Zissett, Mike Wilson, Wendell Wilson, Frank Martin and Jim Padgett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to East Gaffney Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2112 Cherokee Ave., Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
