Haile H. LeMaster, Sr.
Retired after 34 years of service as member of Board of Directors of Palmetto Bank
Haile Humphries LeMaster, Sr., 87, of 781 Boiling Springs Hwy., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Mr. LeMaster and his late wife, Lucile Gettys LeMaster, were married for almost 54 years. He was the son of the late Ralph Jefferies LeMaster and the late Della Humphries LeMaster. A native of Cherokee County, he graduated from Gaffney High School and Clemson University. He was a member and former deacon of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. He was a Mason and Shriner, and retired after 34 years of service as a member of the Board of Directors of Palmetto Bank. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, Ralph Thomas LeMaster and wife, Nanette, Haile H. LeMaster Jr. and wife, Teresa, all of Gaffney, Mary Carole Phillips and husband, Pat, of Taylors, Cynthia Ellen Bishop and husband, Ronald, of Mt. Pleasant and Cecile Catherine Richmond and husband, Ronald, of Kennesaw, Ga. There are 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. LeMaster was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Clarianne Gettys LeMaster; a sister, Mary E. LeMaster; and four brothers, G. Wayne LeMaster, R.J. LeMaster Jr., Hamlet W. LeMaster and Boyce C. LeMaster. Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Aycock and the Rev. Martin Hogg officiating. Interment will be in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
