Moss seeking second term

REP. DENNIS MOSS REP. DENNIS MOSS First, I would like to thank the voters of House District 29 for allowing me to serve as your Representative. It has truly been a great honor to serve the people of Cherokee, Chester, & York Counties over the past two years. If given the opportunity, I will continue to serve you to the best of my abilities.

Over the last two years I established myself as an active voice in the legislative process, and I represented the conservative values of House District 29. I worked in an effort to reach across party lines to ensure the needs of our communities were met. For me, serving as your Representative is not about Dennis Moss or party politics, but about the people I represent. I worked well with both Democrats and Republicans, and I understand what it takes to get things done for our communities in the state legislature.

I am an avid supporter of funding for our public schools. I support profitable businesses in our state to encourage job growth, and I want to decrease unnecessary spending. I support lowering taxes for middle class families, and I voted to eliminate the grocery tax. I co-sponsored legislation to ensure at least 65% of the education budget is used in classrooms. I am an advocate for children, seniors, and vulnerable adults. My record in the legislature is clear - I have nothing to hide.

As a member of the House of Representatives it is my responsibility to be active within our communities, to discuss with the citizens issues that are important to them and to propose and support programs that strengthen our state. It has always been and will continue to be my goal to encourage active participation in the legislative process. I strive to cast my votes according to the will of the people of House District 29. I believe positive changes for our state begins with the people and should not be about party politics.

It is my responsibility as your Representative to keep the people of this district informed about the votes cast in Columbia. I strongly believe accountability within government is extremely important. For this reason, I co-sponsored legislation to ensure every vote that contains a fiscal impact cast in the state legislature is recorded by a roll-call vote.

During the last campaign I promised to keep you informed. I maintained that commitment by submitting legislative reports to local newspapers weekly to keep you informed about current legislation before the House. At the end of each year, I sent legislative updates to inform the people of House District 29 of important legislation that passed throughout the year. I have hidden nothing from the voters of this district and have called for a more accountable process.

This campaign has become increasingly negative with false attacks on my record. I encourage you to take a look. My record on issues that are important to this district are clear. I will continue to be an active voice for public education…will my opponent? I will continue to encourage job growth in this state…will my opponent? I will continue to support programs that benefit our children and our seniors… will my opponent?

I can only tell you what I have done and will continue to do if given the opportunity. Serving District 29 in the best possible way that benefits all has been my goal. With your continued support I will work hard to make District 29 a great place to do business, a great place to live and a great place to work.
