Laurens Kelly McCraw, 61, of 231 Ballenger Road, died on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 at home.

A native of Cherokee County, he was born on Aug. 12, 1947, a son of the late Laurens B. "Bobby" McCraw

and Irene

Humphries McCraw

Harmon. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church, a Navy veteran and employed by Duke Energy.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Fox McCraw; a son, Todd McCraw of Mooresboro, N.C.; and a sister, Joan Blake of Rutherfordton, N.C.

Services will be held Monday, Nov. 3 , at 11 a.m. in the A.C. McKinney Chapel at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home in Cliffside, N.C., with the Revs. Ernie Cole and John Godfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Grassy Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 2, from 7-9 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home.
