Layzell Lane Sr.

Layzell Lane Sr., 81, of 215 Lincoln Drive, widower of Rothena Dawkins Lane, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at 11:47 a.m. at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, Spartan- burg.

Son of the late William Lane and the late Gertrude Booker Lane, he was born on May 10, 1927, in Charleston.

He was a member of Washington Temple in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He was a retried employee of E.J. Keller Construction Company of Gaffney.

He is survived by his daughter, Ernestine Davis of Gaffney; five sons, Layzell Lane Jr., Anthony Lane, Brian Buckson, all of Gaffney, Robert Lane of the home and William Lane of Nashville, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Lane of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives.
