Wayne Earls
Wayne Alonzo Earls, 77, of 2507 North White Oak Drive, Shelby, N.C., died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, N.C., he was a son of the late Collis and Virginia Robinson
Earls. He was a
retired employee of
P.P.G., a member of Camps Creek Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Earls was an Air Force veteran and served in the Korean War. He was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Wilkie.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Powell Earls; two sons, Mark Douglas Earls and Garry Wayne Earls, both of Shelby; a daughter, Joan Karen Earls of Chesnee; two sisters, Joyce Lee Allison and Ruby Jean Martin, both of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Natasha Lee Richards, Mark Jason Earls, Clifford Patrick Bishop, Timothy Jones and Karen Jones; and six great grandchildren, Lauren Earls, Luke Earls, Madison Earls, Hayden Richards, Todd Maloney and Mackensie Maloney.
Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 2, from 1-2 p.m. at McKinney Landreth Funeral Home. Graveside services followed at 2:30 p.m. in Cleveland Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Hester officiating.
