Shady Grove to host Pure 'N Heart children's choir workshop, concert

Shady Grove Baptist Church will sponsor a Pure 'N Heart workshop and concert this weekend. Individuals and area youth directors are invited to bring their children or youth choirs (approximately age five to 13) to participate.

The workshop will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. There will be food, fun, fellowship, games and prizes. Participants will enjoy singing, rapping, dancing and scripture. There is no charge for participation.

A concert will follow Sunday at 5:08 p.m. All Pure 'N Heart concerts begin at 5:08 based on the scripture Matthew 5:8: "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God."

Choir concert attire is solid color T-shirts and jeans.

Alphaeus Anderson of Spartanburg, music minister at Mt. Sinai World Outreach Ministry in Spartanburg, will be on hand to lead the workshop and concert.

Children from other Pure 'N Heart choir clusters will be attending from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

The 125-voice choir and ministry were organized five years ago. The group will be singing songs from Pure 'N Heart's latest CD/DVD.

For more information contact, Mary K. Jones, Shady Grove's music minister, at 864-489-0164; Skahila Lattimore and Candace Alexander, youth choir directors; or the Rev. Lee Byers Jr., pastor, at 864-489-5143.
