Miss Denton is bride of Jeffrey W. McMeans

MRS. JEFFREY WILLIAM MCMEANS (ALLISON FRANCES DENTON) MRS. JEFFREY WILLIAM MCMEANS (ALLISON FRANCES DENTON) CHARLESTON - St. John's Lutheran Church was the setting Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, for the marriage of Allison Frances Denton and Jeffrey William McMeans, both of Summerville. The Rev. Steven Plonk officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed at The Citadel Beach House on Isle of Palms.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lamar Denton of York and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Denton of Blacksburg, Treva Dixon Hamrick of Gaffney and the late Mr. Lamont Fred Hamrick. A graduate of Northwestern High School, she earned a B.A. degree in Elementary Education from Clemson University and is a fourth grade teacher in Dorchester School District II. She is pursuing a Masters of Education at Southern Wesleyan University.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Robert McMeans Jr. of Summerville. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hughes Wade Jr. of New Bern, N.C., Delorys Duncan Flowers of Newberry, the late William Robert McMeans Sr. and the late Rev. C. William Flowers. A graduate of Summerville High School, he earned a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University and is an engineer with Mead- Westvaco in North Charleston. He is pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at The Citadel.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Meredith Denton Farias of Vina del Mar, Chile. Bridesmaids were Mollye Elizabeth Crowell of Greenville, Amelia Elizabeth Fenters of Summerville, Katherine Daniel Hix of Lexington, Megan Elizabeth Kane of Charlotte, N.C., and Lindsey Hall Mangum of Charleston.

Best man was William Ryan Lyles of Columbia. Groomsmen were Samuel Alexander Denton, brother of the bride, of Rock Hill; Brian Daniel French and George Hodnett McDaniel. both of Summerville; Andrew Patrick Hunter of Greenville; and Ryan Carlyle Smith of Jacksonville, Fla. Ushers were Daniel Hamrick Blackmon, cousin of the bride, of Greenville and Juan Alberto Farias, brother-in-law of the bride, of Vina del Mar, Chile.

The acolyte was Jacob Robert Wade of Wilmington, N.C., and the crucifer was Elizabeth Denise Sease of Lexington, both cousins of the groom. Scripture reader was Dustin George Herrmann of North Charleston. Program attendants were Ashley Elizabeth Rigter of Tustin, Calif., and Sarah Caroline Rigter of Mount Pleasant, both cousins of the bride.

A rehearsal dinner celebration, hosted by the groom's parents, was held on Friday evening at The Harbor Grill in Charleston.

After a honeymoon trip to Italy and Greece, the couple will reside in Summerville.
