The Cherokee County libraries in Gaffney and Blacksburg will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in honor of Veterans Day. Regular hours will resume Wednesday.

Red Cross classes

The American Red Cross, Cherokee County Service Center, will conduct a dog first aid class Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. until noon. The course fee will go to support disaster services in Cherokee County. A free home disaster preparedness class will be held Nov. 12 from 9-10 a.m. Free smoke detectors, radios and water jugs will be distributed to those attending. Both classes will be at the ARC Service Center, 405 N. Logan St. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required. To register, call (864) 489-6066.
