Medicare drug plans to be explained

The Appalachian Area Agency on Aging will offer a free information session on the Medicare Prescription Drug plans on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 10:45 a.m. at the Gaffney Senior Center, 499 W. Rutledge Ave. The session is for medicare beneficiaries and will offer an overview of the plan, options during open enrollment and how some individual may apply for assistance to pay for plan costs.

The program is sponsored through the I-CARE (Insurance Counseling Assistance and Referral for Elders) program of the Appalachian AAA. The I-CARE program assists beneficiaries with enrollment during the Medicare Prescription Drug program's open enrollment that begins Nov. 15. Trained volunteers will be at the Gaffney Senior Center each week beginning Nov 18, to assist with MPD enrollment, drug plan comparisons and application for assistance to MPD. Call 864-489-3868 to schedule an appointment.

The I-CARE program is not affiliated with any insurance plan.
