Curtis D. Holmes, 74, of 711 Blue Branch Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Ruby Holmes Porter. He was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Barry Holmes, of Gaffney, two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Joe Holmes.

Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Delos Blanton officiating. Visitation was held immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cherokee County Unit, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, S.C. 29615.

The family will be at the residence.
