Glenn Crouch
U.S. Army veteran
Born April 15, 1955, in Catawba County, N.C., he was the son of Glenn Avery Crouch and Betty Faye Flowers Crouch, both of Claremont, N.C. He had been a truck driver for UPS Freight for 27 1.2 years and was a member of Buffalo Masonic Lodge 202 in Blacksburg, where he was past master. He attended Nashville Auto Diesel College and served as a member of a volunteer fire department in Roanoke, Va., where he was named "Volunteer Fireman of the Year" in 1993. He served in the U.S. Army and was of the Lutheran faith. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dinah Lea McKennon Crouch; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristie and Jeffry Bivens of Newton, N.C.; two grandchildren, Bethany and Travis Bivens; sister and brothers, Brenda and Norman Deal of Leesville Robert and Darbie Crouch of Claremont and Roger Crouch of Newton, N.C.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Peggy Ollis, Trudy and Tracy Gantt, Nancy Hefner and Rick Parker; very dear friends, Patty and Danny Gilleland, Steve and Revonda Granger and Rob and Renee Chapman and kids; numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. at Fallston (N.C.) Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Burial was private. Visitation was Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Shriners-Oxford Orphanage, Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, N.C. 27565.
