ATLANTA Ga. - Myra Janelle Parris Moss, 98, of 1942 Cedar Canyon Drive, formerly of 630 Wilkinsville Hwy., Gaffney, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Wesley Woods Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Elbert Tillman Moss and the daughter of the late Robert Edward Parris and Eliza Parris Parris. Mrs. Moss was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was retired from Minnette Mills, Sagebrush Steakhouse and was a caregiver to Olive McKown for many years. Surviving are a daughter, Penny Moss Douglass Furr and husband, Ed, of Atlanta; two brothers, Hoke Parris and wife, Shirley, of Gaffney and Robert Parris and wife, Bonner, of Griffin, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Moss was preceded in death by nine brothers, Ed Parris, Good Parris, Lloyd Parris, Wade Parris, Derbin Parris, Elbert Parris, Sidney Parris, Tank Parris and Guy Parris; and a sister, Lettie Barnhill. Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with the Revs. Charlie Blackwood and Roger Ham officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Moss, Charles Moss, Danny Parris, Chris Parris, Stroup Parris and Lee Parris. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 10, from 6- 8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
