Eva June Foster, 76, of College Drive, formerly of Wilkes County, N.C., died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Brookview Healthcare Center.

Ms. Foster was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Wilkes County, N.C., to Edward B. and Lois Walsh Foster. A member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Ferguson, N.C., she was an English professor at Limestone College.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Jack Foster.

Surviving are a nephew, Edward Brian (Chip) Foster of Indiana; a sister-in-law, Joyce Foster Mahon of Greenville; and several cousins.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Beaver Creek Baptist Church, 11665 W. NC Hwy. 268, Ferguson, N.C. 28624; or to Foster Memorial Fund, c/o Limestone College, 1115 College Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

Services were held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnathan Blevins, the Rev. Hadley Triplett and Dr. Fred Bassett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was held at the church from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
