COWPENS - Ronnie Eugene Griffin, 61, of 255 Foster St., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Spartanburg Restorative Care.

Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Dianne Lamb Griffin and son of Winnie Bailey Griffin Linder and the late Buford Griffin. He was reared in the home of his grandparents, the late Richard and Oma Jolley Bailey. He was employed by Kohler.

In addition to wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Larry Eugene Griffin and Richard Clint Griffin of the home; two brothers, Wayne Bailey of Cowpens and Winford Bailey of Gaffney; a sister, Cecile Mabry of Cowpens; and a step-brother, James Loyd Linder Jr.

In addition to his father, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Felix and Maggie Scruggs Griffin; a brother, Raeford "Sonny" Bailey; a sister, Nannie Sue Wilkins; and stepfather, James Loyd Linder Sr.

Services will be held Monday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Kirby Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Memorial Garden.

Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 10794, Greenville, S.C. 29603.

The family is at the home of Winnie Linder, 107 Pine St., Cowpens.
