Mr. and Mrs. Blackmon celebrate 50th

George and Barbara Blackmon celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 16. They are pictured at left in a recent portrait and at right in the early years of their marriage. George and Barbara McDowell Blackmon of Fort Mill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 16, 2008.

Mr. and Mrs. Blackmon were married in 1958 at Green Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C. Mrs. Blackmon is a native of Gaffney and Mr. Blackmon is native of Charlotte. They have two children, a son and daughter-in-law, Pat and Tammy Blackmon of Gaffney and a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Todd Coley of Fort Mill. They have four grandchildren, Joshua and Brooke Blackmon and Katey and Joseph Coley.
