POLICE REPORT

A woman who was away from her home for a Nov 6. funeral service discovered it had been burglarized upon her return, according to a report at the Gaffney Police Department.

Police said someone gained entry to the home in the 200 block between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. by breaking a rear window. Inside the home, police said the burglar(s) kicked in a bedroom door and stole an estimated $400 in cash. Nothing else appeared to be missing. Theft and damage losses totaled $550.

About $5,500 in theft and damage losses were reported in the recent discovery of a burglary at a Victory Trail home.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke into the home in the 2000 block between Oct. 6 and Nov. 6 and stole all the copper pipe and wire, as well as a set of gas logs, a washing machine and the back door of the home.

Two vehicles were reported stolen from a Dravo Road, Blacksburg, property Nov. 6.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone took a red 1986 Chevrolet S-10 pickup and a white 1988 Chevrolet Blazer from the property in the 1600 block. Neither of the vehicles was in drivable condition, according to the police report. Theft losses are estimated at $3,000.

Someone broke into a home on Seminole Trail in Cowpens recently.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke the glass in the back door of the home in the 200 block to gain entry between Nov. 1 and Nov. 6. It was unclear if anything was missing. Damage was estimated at $400.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the theft of an estimated $9,300 in furnishings from a Ballenger Road home.

According to a police report, someone took the furnishings, which were not listed or described, from the home in the 700 block between Nov. 5 and Nov. 6.

Police are on the lookout for a vehicle reported stolen from a Shelby Highway parking lot.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone took a blue 2004 Chevrolet Suburban from a lot in the 100 block between 10 a.m. and noon Nov. 6. The vehicle had a South Carolina license plate, 22-inch chrome rims and dark tinted windows.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the attempted theft of a vehicle on Cannon Church Road.

According to a police report, someone broke into a 1998 Honda Civic while it was parked in the 4900 block and damaged the steering column. Damage is estimated at $700. Police said the vehicle's license plate was stolen.

A 64-year-old man had his wallet ripped from his hands after two people approached him and asked if he could help them break a $100 bill.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, the robbery occurred at about 12:45 p.m. Nov. 10 at 6th Street and Cherokee Avenue. An unknown male and female approached the man and asked if he had change for a $100 bill. When the man pulled out his wallet, the female grabbed it and the male pushed the man down. Police said the thieves then took $78 in cash from the man's wallet and threw the wallet to the ground.

The Gaffney Police Department reported the arrest of a 30-year-old 11th Street man in connection with a Nov. 3 stabbing.

Marquis Shemon Linder is charged in the warrant with assault and battery with intent to kill.

Police allege Linder stabbed a 30-year-old Dogwood Drive man with a knife Nov. 3 during an incident on Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

Nearly $4,000 in electronics and DVD movies were stolen from a Stonecrest Drive office during a burglary that occurred between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 10 and 8 a.m. Nov. 11.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, someone forced entry to the office at the Stonecrest Apartments and took a 60-inch LG-brand plasma television, various DVD movies, $50 in cash and Klipsch speakers.

About $750 in electronics and jewelry was reported stolen from a Gardner Road home in a Nov. 9 burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's office, someone entered the home in the 300 block between 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. and took a 20-inch Emerson television, a Xbox video game system and 10 games, assorted DVDs and video tapes and a ring.

A gun, various electronics and jewelry were reported stolen from a 13th Street home in a Nov. 8 burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced entry to the home in the 100 block between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and took a silver colored .25 caliber handgun with brown grips, a Xbox video game system and games, a Playstation game system, a gold ring and necklace, and three bottles of prescription medication.
