Retired from Johns Manville
      Jimmy Lee Lanier, 67, of 250 Hampshire Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his home. Born in Cherokee County, he was the husband of Evelyn Parris Lanier and son of the late June Lanier and Coleen Wilson Lanier. He was retired from Johns Manville and was a member of Freedom Fellowship Baptist Church.

      UNION - Lula Smith Harrison, 85, of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home, widow of Herbert D. Harrison, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008. Mrs. Harrison was born in Union on June 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Gist Smith and Jane Smith Smith. She retired from United Merchants Buffalo Plant and attended Fairforest Baptist Church.
