Macie Love Martin

Kings Creek native

WILLISTON - Services for Macie Elma Love Martin, 97, of Williston, will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at Williston First Baptist Church with Dr. David Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Williston Cemetery.

Mrs. Martin died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Born in Kings Creek, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Love and Macie Bird Love. She was a homemaker and a nurse and a graduate of Hickory Grove High School, Petterson Business College and Shriner's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the D.A.R., a charter member of the Ivy Garden Club, a member of the Rebekah Sunday School and a member of the Williston First Baptist Church. She was married to the late William Benton Martin.

Survivors include daughters, Janice (Roland) Wakefield of Williston; Miriam (Gene) Mills of West Columbia and Donna (Bill) Farr of North Augusta; sisters, Nannie Mae Allen, Catherine Barrett; grandchildren James Daniel Holloway II, Ashley Farr Harris, Ginger Farr Subers, Kimberly Farr Nichols, Susan Farr Callahan; and great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Holloway, Daniel Holloway, Will Holloway, Jack Holloway, Macy Love Harris, Cara Anne Harris, Wiley Bourne Harris, Tanner Subers, Chad Subers, Bennett Nichols, Ashby Callahan and Luke Callahan.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a daughter, Billie Jean Sprawls, and four brothers, George Edwin Love, John Robert Love, William Bird Love and Bascomb Love.
