Calvin Dewitt Watkins, 54, of 588 Boiling Springs Hwy., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at his home.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was the husband of Audrey Proctor Hopper Watkins and son of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Wood Watkins. He was a member of Suck Creek Baptist Church.

Also surviving are three daughters, Natoshia Brown (Jerry) of Kings Mountain, N.C., Tara Watkins of Mooresboro, N.C., and Brooke Watkins of Lattimore, N.C.; stepsons, Everett Hooper (Wanda) and Derrick Hopper of Gaffney; mother-in-law, Blanche Proctor of the home; a brother, Jeff Watkins of Hyattsville, Md.; three sisters, Geraldine Sarratt (Edgar) of Gaffney, Melrose Sherman of Washington, D.C., Grace Martin (Cliff) of Boiling Springs, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Tony Macomson officiating. Interment will be in Suck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
