Shannon "Toby" Keith Pennington, 39, of 426 White's Road, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

A native of Gaffney, he was the son of John "Johnny" Pennington and Mary Ellen Pennington of Gaffney. He was a millwright and of the Baptist faith.

He leaves behind, along with his mother and father, a daughter, Carrie Pennington of Gaffney, who is a student of Limestone College; his fiancée, Becky Pennington of Gaffney; two sisters, Aimee Bailey of Gaffney and Patty Thomas of Blacksburg; and a brother, Eddie Pennington of Gaffney.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Benjamin and Hazel Atkins, and an uncle, Lamar "Bigun" Pennington.

Mr. Pennington's body will be taken today at 11 a.m. to the home of his mother at 403 Draytonville Road for visitation.

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at Draytonville Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Ivey and Tim Osment officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Thomas, Neely Thomas, Josh Henderson, Rick Pennington, Billy Joe Pennington Jr., Ronnie Bailey and Joe Messer.
