Who had the BEST season?

      The results of Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead- Miami Speedway will determine who will be crowned champion of NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series. But the final points standings won't necessarily decide which driver had the best season in 2008.

      273 Points separating David Ragan in 13th place in Sprint Cup points and Kasey Kahne in 14th, meaning Ragan will finish as the highest non-Chase driver. 214 Laps led by Matt Kenseth last year at Homestead- Miami Speedway, the most of any driver in Sprint Cup racing at that track.

Gaffney (6-5) and Summerville (9-2) , the two most storied prep programs in South Carolina which have combined for 28 state championships, renew their rivalry in today's opening round of the Class AAAA Division I playoffs. And if recent history is any indication, no one will be leaving early.

Saints advance in NCAA tourney with 2-1 victory
STAFF REPORTS
      The Limestone College men's soccer team advanced in the NCAA tournament with a 2-1 victory against Lander University on Wednesday afternoon at Saints Field. The Saints, ranked No. 24 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association NCAA Division II rankings, improve to 16-2-2 on the season. The Bearcats close their season with a 12-5-2 record.
