MRS. WILLIAM HERMAN BOWERS JR. (JILL ANNETTE ESTES) MRS. WILLIAM HERMAN BOWERS JR. (JILL ANNETTE ESTES) Salem Presbyterian Church in Gaffney provided the setting Saturday, May 24, 2008, for the wedding of Jill Annette Estes of Overland Park, Kansas, and William Herman Bowers Jr. of Raytown, Mo. Williams Bowers Sr. and Russ Ramsey conducted the 2:30 p.m. double ring ceremony.

A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed in the fellowship hall of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove.

After a wedding trip to the Island of Oahu in Hawaii, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers are making their home in Olathe, Kansas.

The bride is the daughter of Madison and Annette Estes of Hickory Grove. A 1991 graduate of York High School, she received a B.A. in Art from Winthrop University in 1995.

The groom is the son of William and Carl Bowers of South Africa and grandson of Lena Bowers of Cameron, Mo. He graduated from William Jewel College in 1993 with a B.S. in Mathematics and is employed by Shook, Hardy and Bacon, LLP, as a librarian.

Music was provided by Susan Ryan, pianist; Matthew Williams, trumpeter; and Ruth Heldenbrand and Ryan Heldenbrand, vocalists.

Mr. Williams played "Trumpet Voluntary" by Purcell and the vocalists sang "When God Made You"as a duet. The congregation sang included "Here I Am to Worship" and "Be Thou My Vision." Piano selections were "Canon in D," "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" and "Ode to Joy."

The sanctuary was decorated with candelabra, peace lilies and small palms. Each windows was enhanced with a hurricane globe and white candle. The pews were adorned with bows of pearltrimmed white satin.

Escorted and given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white gown featuring a fitted bodice, A-line skirt and cathedral train accented with lace appliques covered in sequins and pearls. The scoop neckline and cap sleeves were trimmed with seed pearls, bugle beads and Swarvoski crystals. Her single-layer fingertip veil was trimmed with seed pearls, beads and crystals and fell from a beaded tiara. She carried two dozen fresh-cut pink roses tied with a double bows of white satin and white sheer pearl-trimmed ribbons. The roses were grown by the bride's parents.

Laura Muckerman of Merriam, Kansas, attended the bride as maid of honor while Beth Plumblee of Clemson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lori Estes of Rock Hill, sister of the bride; Ann Bowers of Raytown, Mo., sister of the groom; Jessica Thomson of Easley, niece of the bride; Mary Elizabeth Becker of Las Vegas, Nev., niece of the bride; Michelle Sanders of Smyrna; Joy Bryant of York; Caroline Berry of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Suzanne Williams of Mt. Pleasant, nieces of the bride. The attendants were attired in navy blue floorlength dresses.

Hahhan Joy Morgan of Siloam Springs, Ark., cousin of the groom, served as flower girl and wore a white tea-length dress featuring a satin bodice and organza skirt enhanced with a white organza sash around the waist.

Hayden Schertz of St. Louis, Mo., cousin of the groom, was the ring bearer.

Doug Morgan of Siloam Springs, Ark., cousin of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Heldenbrand of St. Joseph, Mo., cousin of the groom; Woody LaRue of Leawood, Kansas; Nathan Rogers of Princeton, Mo., Eric Schertz of St. Lois, Mo., cousins of the groom; Matthew Williams of Mt. Pleasant, nephew of the bride; and Jordan Thomson of Easley, great-nephew of the bride.\
