POLICE REPORT

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Nov. 15 incident during which a shot was fired into a dwelling on Providence Creek Road.

According to a police report, someone fired a shot into a home in the 100 block at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, causing about $200 in damage. Police said they recovered a small-caliber bullet from the residence. No injuries were reported.

A vehicle reported stolen out of Spartanburg County was recovered Nov. 14 on Oglesby Lane in Gaffney.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle owned by a Spartanburg man was found in the 300 block of Oglesby Lane at about 2:30 p.m. while the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was assisting Spartanburg County police with a warrant. Police did not say who stole the vehicle, which was returned to its owner.

A 17-year-old teen was arrested Nov. 13 after he allegedly tried to leave Wal- Mart with $65 in stolen merchandise.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, the teen allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for a DVD, jewelry, slippers and condoms.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported an estimated $999 in vandalism to a car parked on Bonner Lake Road.

Police said someone scratched the passenger side and hood of a 1997 Ford Explorer while it was parked in the 400 block between Nov. 12 and Nov. 13.

A 27-year-old Alabama woman was arrested Nov. 7 on a charge of possession of suspected methamphetamine following a traffic stop.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, an officer stopped Pamela Thrasher, of West Christine Avenue, Anniston, Ala., at about 10 a.m. Nov. 7 on Interstate 85 near the 95 mile marker. Police claim she was in possession of less than one ounce of methamphetamine. She remained at the Cherokee County Detention Center on Nov. 16 in lieu of $5,000 bond, according to jail records.

A Raintree Lane homeowner apparently stopped someone from breaking into her crawl space early Nov. 16.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a homeowner in the 100 block heard a noise outside her home and drove to the rear of her property to investigate. The woman found someone had pried off the lock on the crawl space door. Nothing was reported missing.
