Sarah L. Bonner

SHELBY - Sarah Lee Bonner, 66, of 409 Antrum St., died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, in Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

Born in Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Herman Bonner Sr. and the late Ida Pearl Wilson Bonner. She was a member of Mikes Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Laramie Petty of Gaffney; four daughters, Wynima Petty, Sheila Leak (Michael) of Shelby, Charles Petty of Gastonia and Marilyn Petty of the home; two brothers, Nerer Bonner and M.C. Bonner (Alice) of Gaffney; two sisters, Minnie Bonner and Angela Norris (Darren) of Gaffney; step-brothers, Ronald Oglesby (Betty) Donald Oglesby (Pat), John Oglesby, Larry Oglesby (Debra) and Randy Oglesby; step-sisters, Fernina Smith and Novella Oglesby; uncles, Cotrell Bonner and Charlie Brown; great-aunt, Tinnie T. Smith; and eight grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at Mikes Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Sanders Parks officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
