The following awards were presented: Participation - Carsyn Ames, Brantley Blackwell, Amber Gault, Kelly Gibson, Carlie Norman, Nikki Poole, Margaret Anne Poole, Summer Rowan, Amber Simmerson, Mackenzie Wallace, Seth Cole, Tanner McCraw, Cole Gainey and Troy Perry; Senior Award - Brady Ellis; High Points - Keri Bloomer and Brady Ellis; Academic - Morgan Robinson and Jacob Pearsall; Most Improved - Courtney Bramlett and Tanner McCraw; Indian Award - CarolAnn Prange and Jacob Pearsall; Coaches Award - Sarah Humphries and Cameron Bramlett; Rookie of the Year - Margaret Anne Queen and Seth Cole; Leadership - Karli Green and Cody Terry; Lettermen Second Year - Wesley Gainey, Cody Terry, Courtney Bramlett, Megan Coggins and Karli Green; Third Year - Cameron Bramlett, Jacob Pearsall and Sarah Humphries; Fourth Year - Brady Ellis, Keri Bloomer, CarolAnn Prange, Cici Revels, Morgan Robinson. LC to honor its national champs Limestone College will honor its 2008 NCAA Division II national champions during the Lady Saints basketball home opener today. Limestone will recognize Dan Scanlan, the 184-pound wrestling national champion, and the national champion men's swimming 200 freestyle relay team of Craig Jordens, Chris Harrigan, Anders Melin, and Goran Majlat. The presentation of the national championship rings will take place at halftime of the Limestone women's basketball game against Mars Hill. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. Scanlan claimed the 184-pound national wrestling title last March with a win over Mike Corcetti of the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. He is the first Limestone wrestler to win a national championship. The Limestone College men's swim team claimed the 200-yard freestyle relay national championship title with a first-place finish last march at the NCAA Division II Swimming and Division Championships in Columbia, Mo. Craig Jordens, Chris Harrigan, Anders Melin and Goran Majlat combined to win the event with a time of 1:20.69. |
