"The girls really had a great time choosing just the right gifts for the boxes and packing them," said troop leader Dora Bowman.

According to Karla Lavender, who was in charge of the First Baptist of Gaffney relay center, 1,649 boxes had been dropped off by local residents to be delivered to children around the world.

The Girl Scout troop is gathering food and supplies for the Cherokee Children Home . If you would like to make a donation to the girls' Children's Home project, call 864-488-2691.
