Former Gaffney resident joins the Alzheimer's CURE Foundation
"We welcome Marlene into our very prestigious Advisory Committee", said Effie Marie Lascarides, Founder and President of the Alzheimer's CURE Foundation. "Her love for her sister, Kathleen, who was recently diagnosed, and her passion for the cure of Alzheimer's and dementia in general have joined our paths into a common goal - that of the Alzheimer's cure", she continued. "I am so excited about this amazing organization, the passion behind it for the cure and the ground-breaking concept. When Marie asked me to join the Advisory Committee, I welcomed the opportunity to become a part of history in the making," Morgan said. "This is the first time that a health-related organization is employing the 'competition/reward after success' concept and I am so hopeful that things will begin to move rapidly towards the Alzheimer's cure so that my sister will benefit from it - not to mention many millions of Americans and millions more world-wide with Alzheimer's and other dementias," she added. "I discovered the Alzheimer's CURE Foundation, Inc. by a freak accident, in one of my darkest moments, and I know in my heart I was destined to become a part of it," Morgan continued. "Now I feel as though I have an additional purpose in life and I am not just a bystander waiting for things to happen - as though God has sent me here for a purpose." The Alzheimer's CURE Foundation, Inc. (www.alzcure.org), is a public, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a huge vision and a unique strategy. Their mission is to dramatically accelerate the cure for Alzheimer's and other dementias while at the same time supporting education and creating public awareness. To accomplish their primary goal - the cure - the Alzheimer's CURE Foundation, Inc. is introducing the concept of healthy and vibrant competition within the medical/scientific community with a $20 million cash reward to the scientist who is successful in finding the cure for this devastating disease. The Alzheimer's CURE Foundation will act as a catalyst that will spur medical research to exciting new heights. "Our biggest challenge right now is raising the $20 million that will thrust medical research to a level that we never before dreamt of," said Morgan. "I hope your readers will help make history and at the same time honor my sister, Kathleen. This month is Alzheimer's Awareness Month, one more reason to donate to the Alzheimer's CURE Foundation and help us accelerate the cure. I also hope that people who read this article will share the website (www.alzcure.org) with others. It is also my desire to see ACTION quickly, not only for Kathleen, but for all who are suffering with this disease.
