Commissioner of officials to review playoff tape
      A South Carolina High School League official will review the videotape of this past Friday's Sumter-Gaffney playoff game. But he didn't get the tape from Gaffney coach Phil Strickland. In a postgame interview, Strickland said he was upset with the officiating and planned to send a tape to the high school league.

Deja vu for Gaffney's Long
      In some ways, it's like 2005 all over again for Malcolm Long. The South Carolina State quarterback is once again completing more than 60 percent of his passes, making game-winning plays and leading his team into the playoffs.

      Strickland named all-conference Former Gaffney High standout Andy Strickland was among nine players from Wofford College named to the Coaches All-Southern Conference Team as announced by the conference on Tuesday. The Terriers had three players earn first-team honors, while six players earned spots on the second team.

Clark, Middleton power Saints to conference win over Coker
      Stewart Clark scored 27 points and Anthony Middleton had 19 points and six rebounds to lead Limestone to an 81-74 conference win over Coker on Monday. Limestone improves to 2-0 overall, and 1-0 in conference play. In a hard fought back and forth battle, the Cobras missed several foul shots in the closing minutes.

Former Gaffney grads prepare for playoff action
      South Carolina State 55, N.C. A&T 0 Starting quarterback Malcolm Long returned to the lineup for the Bulldogs after missing three games due to injury. Long (Gaffney High School) completed 12 of 19 passes for 181 yards. Long threw touchdown passes of 28-yards to Matt Washington and 31- yards to Phillip Morris.

Field hockey coach named at Limestone
      Limestone College Director of Athletics Mike Cerino has announced that Lindsay Jackson will be the Lady Saints' head field hockey coach. Jackson will oversee all aspects of the inaugural program that will begin competition in the fall of 2009.
