Clark, Middleton power Saints to conference win over Coker
Stewart Clark scored 27 points and Anthony Middleton had 19 points and six rebounds to lead Limestone to an 81-74 conference win over Coker on Monday.
Limestone improves to 2-0 overall, and 1-0 in conference play.
In a hard fought back and forth battle, the Cobras missed several foul shots in the closing minutes. The Cobras shot just 43.5 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from the charity stripe, while the Saints shot 52.2 percent from the floor and an outstanding 82.8 percent from the free throw line.
Limestone's Michael Barrett also scored in double figures with 11 points and four rebounds.
For Coker, Mason Ambler and Lukas Varga each had 14 points with Ambler pulling down five rebounds and Varga dishing out five assists. Josh Poston had 12 points and led all rebounders with seven boards for Coker.
The Lady Saints made it a sweep with a 92-74 victory over Coker. Limestone improves to 2-1 overall, and 1-0 in the conference.
Limestone used strong perimeter shooting and double digit scoring from six players to secure the victory.
Blanca Gonzalez led the way with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists. She was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3- point range.
Tierney Burdett was next with 16 points, 15 from beyond the arc, and three rebounds, while Jessica Hart had 13 points and five rebounds.
Brittney Miller had 12 points and seven rebounds and Lauren Pace and Jessica Todd each had 10 points for the Lady Saints.
