Holiday hours

The Cherokee County Public Library and the Blacksburg Public Library will be closed today, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Nov. 29, and reopen Monday, Dec. 1.

Church news

Southside Baptist Church, 204 W. O'Neal St., will begin a "Christmas Adventure" Sunday, Nov. 30, with the Hope Advent Candle. The 10:30 a.m. sermon will be "Baby Jesus, Come to Save Us." The 6 p.m. service that day will be held in the Family Life Center with Prayer Stations. Each Prayer Station will represent a part of the story of Jesus' birth. This interactive worship experience is designed for the family to worship together.

The annual Broad River Baptist Association's Candlelight Tour of Churches will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church and First Baptist Church. The first tour will begin at 6 p.m.

All Junior Missionary Advisors of the Thickety Mountain Baptist Associaton will meet Sunday, Nov. 30, after the 2:30 p.m. fifth Sunday program at the AAssociational Building, 1505 Old Post Road.

The Senior Missionaries and YWAs of the Thickety Mountain Baptist Association will have their fifth Sunday program Nov. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Thickety Mountain Baptist Associational Building. Churches in charge of the program will be Concord, Limestone, Mikes Creek and Youngs Grove. The church with the highest attendance will receive the attendance cup.

Puppets on a Mission from Restoration International Church will be at Antioch Baptist Church of Gaffney Inc., 300 Serene Drive, on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 10 a.m.

The Youth Department of Allen Temple CME Church will have a one-day youth revival on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. Speaker will be Donnie Allen, associate minister of Suck Creek Baptist Church, Gaffney.
