8-year-old spoils the party for adults

      Dear Annie: I have been in a Bunco group for several years now. We all get along great, and I really look forward to our monthly adult time together. The problem is that every time it's "Nancy's" turn to host, she lets her 8-year-old daughter join us. The girl is there the entire time while we eat, talk about what's going on in our lives, etc.

Brookview residents have 'Spooktacular' Halloween
      The Activity Department at Brookview Healthcare Center hosted a Halloween "Spooktacular" on Friday, Oct. 31, with residents and staff participating in a best costume competition. Winners of the resident competition were Ed Fowler and Marie Haney (top left). Staff winners were Jerry Mace as Elvis, Lelia Smith as Elvis and Termite as Jail House Rock (right).

Library hosts Family Night' movie Dec. 2
      The Cherokee County Public Library will host "Family Movie Night" on Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 4-6 p.m. All ages are welcome and snacks will be served. Susan Sarratt, children's librarian, invites everyone attend and says that the movie be shown is based on the book, "Polar Express.
