Betty Phillips Evans, 78, formerly of 127 Crescent Circle, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Marvin Edwin Evans and daughter of the late Malcolm Townsen Phillips and Ethel Buchanan Phillips. Mrs. Evans was retired from Timken and was a member of East Gaffney Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Brannon and husband, Gary, and Lynn Gans, both of Gaffney; two brothers, Robert Phillips and W.R. Phillips; and four grandchildren, Jamie Leigh Brannon, and fiancé, Luke McClary, Megan Elizabeth Brannon, Jacob Evan Gans and Jordan Leigh Gans.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 2-2:45 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Toney officiating.

The family is at the home of Gary and Sandra Brannon, 226 Ellis Ferry Ave.
