Major Cecil Brogden
Major James E. (Cecil) Brogden, 67, of Farm Wind Road, was promoted to glory on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008.
Born in Goldsboro, N.C., he was the husband of Elma Blackwell Brogden and son of the late Curtis Ellie Brogden and Beulah Best Brogden. Major Brogden was ordained and commissioned as an officer in The Salvation Army in 1962 as a "Soldier of Christ," which he truly was until the day of his death. He was also a member of the Rotary Club.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Steven E. Brogden of Greer and Michael W. Brogden and wife, Brandi, also of Greer; a daughter, Pamela Lynn Morgan and husband, Dr. Todd Morgan, of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Luke Morgan, Anna Morgan, Caroline Morgan, Kenny Brogden, Brandon Brogden, Charley Brogden, Maddox Brogden and Shelby Brogden.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 1-2:45 p.m. at Grassy Pond Baptist Church. Services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the church with Major Larry White officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Todd Morgan, 973 Pleasant School Road.
