Leroy Littlejohn Sr.

Retired from Pettit Construction

UNION - Leroy Littlejohn Sr., 67, of Oakmont of Union, previously of 18-A Heritage Square Apartments, Gaffney, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at 9:46 a.m. at his residence.

Born April 18, 1941, in Cherokee County, he was the widower of Fannie Good Littlejohn and son of the late Rev. Enoch Littlejohn and the late Jessie Lee Walker Littlejohn. He was a member of New Maxwell Chapel in Spartanburg and attended Bethel Baptist Church. He was a quartet singer with Travelers Stars, Royal Six and Joyful Commanders, and retired from Pettit Construction Company, Spartanburg.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Littlejohn was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Littlejohn Wheeler.

Surviving are two sons, Leroy Littlejohn Jr. and Vincent Littlejohn, both of Gaffney; a daughter, Teresa Morman of Gaffney; five brothers, E.C. Littlejohn of Cleveland, Ohio, Enoch Littlejohn, Donnie Littlejohn, Rick D. Littlejohn, all of Gaffney, and Donald Littlejohn of Charlotte; two sisters, Altie Henderson of Spartanburg and Sarah Alston of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a stepson, Maurice Skinner of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of others relatives.

Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Darrell Smith. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

The family is at the home Leroy and Anita Littlejohn Jr., 123 Hackberry Circle, Gaffney.
