POLICE REPORT

A deer rifle was reported stolen from a vehicle on 10th Street on Nov. 27.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone went into a vehicle parked in the 300 block of 10th Street and took a Remington Model 710 deer rifle in .300 Magnum caliber. The rifle is valued at $750.

A church on Old Georgia Highway sustained about $250 in vandalism damage last week.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke a window and damaged an exterior motion detector light at Trinity Fellowship Church some time between 11 p.m. Nov. 23 and 8 a.m. Nov. 26.

A thief entered a car on Wilcox Avenue on Nov. 27, stealing an estimated $840 in property from the vehicle.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone entered the parked vehicle in the 700 block between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. The car owner told police about $15 in loose change, four different kinds of prescription medications and about 50 DVDs were taken from the vehicle.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office reported the theft of a motorcycle from a Roys Farm Road property.

According to a police report, someone took a 2002 KTM 125 SX motorcycle valued at $1,500 from a property in the 100 block between 11:30 a.m. Nov. 25 and 10:30 a.m. Nov. 26. The motorcycle was taken from a carport.

A Northgate Drive property owner reported to police the theft of car rims following the burglary of a storage shed.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke into an outbuilding in the 300 block and stole a set of 20-inch chrome Panther rims. Theft losses are estimated at more than $1,300.

A car parked on North Limestone Street sustained about $350 in vandalism damage.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone scratched the trunk lid with a key or other object between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 26 and 10 a.m. Nov. 27 while the car was parked in the 1900 block.

Motorists traveling on Interstate 85 reported to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office their car sustained about $200 in damage when someone in a passing vehicle threw some type of liquid at them.

According to a police report, the incident happened about 11:30 p.m. Nov. 27 near the 95 Mile marker. The victims, from Atlanta, Ga., told police an unknown vehicle pulled alongside them and someone threw an unknown liquid at their vehicle.

Five long guns were reported stolen from a Corinth Road home Dec. 1 following the discovery of a burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, five guns were missing from the home in the 1300 block. The burglary occurred between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The stolen guns included a .270 caliber Savage model 110 rifle with scope, a .308 caliber Browning lever action rifle with Leupold scope, a .300 Winchester Short Magnum-chambered Browning rifle with Leupold scope, a 12-gauge Mossberg model 835 pump shotgun and a 12-gauge Mossberg model 935 semiautomatic shotgun. The weapons are valued at $3,650.

The Gaffney Police Department is investigating the armed robbery of a pedestrian on East Frederick Street on Nov. 30.

According to a police report, the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. near the Logan Street intersection. The 19- year-old victim had walked to a West Floyd Baker Boulevard convenience store that morning to purchase cigarettes. While walking home, the pedestrian was approached by two white males in a white Buick near the West Floyd Baker and Frederick Street intersection and was asked if he needed a ride.

The victim told police he told the men no and continued walking, but subsequently noticed the white Buick passed by him several more times. Near the Logan Street intersection, the victim told police, the two men jumped out of the Buick and forced the victim to the ground. One of the robbers produced a handgun and took the victim's wallet and the pack of cigarettes the victim had just bought. The wallet contained about $15.

A 17-year-old city man was slashed with a knife and robbed during a Nov. 28 incident on Sarratt Avenue, according to the Gaffney Police Department.

The victim told police he was walking to his girlfriend's home at about 8:45 p.m. when he was jumped by two unknown men, who took his wallet and a knife. The victim told police one of the robbers then cut him across his chest with the knife.

Police said the victim went to the hospital about 22 hours after the incident and that's where he was interviewed. The victim's wallet contained a Social Security card and driving permit.

A car parked on North Limestone Street was broken into Nov. 30.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, someone smashed a window to gain entry to a Honda Civic parked in the 600 block. Nothing appeared missing from the car but the window damage was estimated at $150.

The Gaffney Police Department responded to a scuffle outside a Walton Drive business early on Black Friday but was unable to determine exactly what happened.

Police said they responded to a reported assault that occurred outside the Radio Shack store at about 12:23 a.m. and spoke to a Blacksburg man who claimed to have been struck in the head by someone with brass knuckles. Police said the man was bloodied but declined treatment by paramedics. Police said they subsequently responded to another location to speak with two other people who claimed to have been assaulted during the same incident. Police said in a written report they advised all of the parties to see a Municipal Court judge.

A set of golf clubs was reported stolen from a West Rutledge Avenue property Nov. 28.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, a resident of the 1500 block had left his golf clubs under a carport the night of Nov. 27 and discovered they were missing the following morning. The clubs are valued at $900.

The Gaffney Police Department reported the theft of an appliance from a Holmes Street home following a recent burglary.

Some time between Nov. 24 and Nov. 28, someone broke into a home in the 400 block and took a Whirlpool dehumidifier valued at $150. Break-in damage was estimated at $100.

A moped was stolen from outside a store at Prime Outlets - Gaffney on Black Friday. According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, a maroon 2008 Aeolus moped parked behind the Nautica outlet store was taken between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. It is owned by a 23-year-old North Carolina man. It is valued at $1,200.

A Peachoid Road home was targeted by a burglar between Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone broke into a home in the 200 block and took a television and DVD player, a tennis bracelet, a portable television car set and about $50 in meat. Theft losses are estimated at a combined $2,049.

A 28-year-old city man was pushed to the ground during a strongarm robbery by an unknown woman late Nov. 27.

According to a report at the Gaffney Police Department, the man was standing in the vicinity of Poplar Street and Holmes Street when he was approached by an unknown black female with red hair and a thin build, who asked him for a cigarette.

The man told police the woman then grabbed his shirt, pushed him down and then grabbed his wallet before running toward West Buford Street. The man said his wallet contained $320 cash and a check for $500.

Cherokee County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the theft of approximately $15,000 in merchandise from the loading dock of the UPS Freight facility off Pleasant School Road.

According to a brief incident report from the responding officer who initially went to the scene, an unknown quantity of clothes, shoes and small appliances were stolen from the loading dock between 5 p.m. Dec. 6 and 10:20 a.m. Dec. 8. Detectives were called to investigate further.
