A circuit court judge on Monday granted bonds to two of the eight men accused of participating in a brutal home invasion last April on Providence Road.

Labrontae Agnew, 18, of Chandler Drive, and Billy Rodgers, 19, of Riverbrook Drive, each were granted bond amounts of $30,000 by Circuit Court Judge Markley Dennis.

A total of eight men have been charged in connection with the incident. Six of them, including Agnew, Rodgers and four others, all had been denied bond earlier this year by Circuit Court Judge Mark Hayes, who had left the door open for reconsideration of his ruling.

Three of those men, Robert Wilson Jr., 19, Kendrick Rashad Tate, 18, and Kwame Douglas 17, subsequently were granted bond amounts of $30,000 each during an October hearing before Circuit Court Judge Paul Burch while Rodgers and Agnew appeared before Judge Dennis on Monday.

All of the men are facing a raft of charges, from burglary and armed robbery to assault and battery and kidnapping. Police allege several of the eight men forced their way into a Providence Road woman's home late at night, held her against her will at gunpoint and knife point, assaulted her, and stole keys to a nearby convenience store where they stole cash boxes.

Representatives of the victim opposed bond when given a chance to address the court during Agnew's and Rodgers' hearing Monday.

A friend who spoke on the victim's behalf said the woman still lives in fear.

"The slightest noise at night wakes her up," her friend said in court.
