Gilbert Lawrence Garcia, 37, of 136 Rainbow Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, he was raised by his foster parents, Juan and Esther Roldan of Spencer, N.C. He was employed by Queen City Plastic Company and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by four sisters, Minerva Horn and husband, Johnny, of Gaffney, Stephanie Pafford Robertson and husband, Chad, of Gaffney, Frannie Pafford Stockwell and husband, Greg, of Gaffney and Jennifer Pafford of Salisbury, N.C.; nephews and nieces, Chazz, Emily, Erica, Allyson, Drew, Dylan and Devon; a special friend, Janet Kite of Gaffney.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 12, from 1-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby L. Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Open Arms Foster Parent Association of Cherokee County, P.O. Box 322, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.

The family will be at the home of Johnny and Minerva Horn, 118 Mohea Ave., Gaffney.
