Gaffney Christmas parade set for tomorrow; line up is first to arrive, first in line
The City of Gaffney will hold its annual City of Gaffney/ Veterans Christmas Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec.13.
Just as they did last year, this year's entries will line up on Railroad Avenue; the parade will march down Limestone Street and will disperse at Thompson Park and Park Place.
Will deBorde, Project Coordinator for the City of Gaffney, requests that all persons planning to be in the parade arrive no later than 9:30 a.m. so that the event can begin promptly at 10 a.m. He also suggests that parade entries take Cherokee Avenue or Beech Street — which run parallel to Railroad Avenue — and any connecting side street to line up on Railroad Avenue.
The blocking of streets along Limestone Street will consist of North and South Limestone Street from Railroad Avenue to Corry Street, Wall Street to the intersection of North Limestone Street at Railroad Avenue, Railroad Avenue from Chestnut Street to intersection with North Limestone Street, North Limestone Street at intersection with Five Points.
All side streets intersecting with Railroad Avenue from Chestnut Street to intersection with North Limestone, Robinson, Frederick and Birnie Streets, East Meadow Street, E. Dr. L.M. Rosemond Lane, Floyd Baker Boulevard, Buford Street, Jefferies and Montgomery Streets from Wall Street to Courthouse Alley. College Drive, Rutledge Avenue, Union and Corry Streets, and all alleys in between, running East and West from Petty Street to Granard Street during time parade is to take place, or as needed.
Government officials and other dignitaries, beauty queens, bands, ROTC units, Military, Boy and Girls Scout Troops, Churches, dance teams, horses and riders, tractors, cultural organizations, and businesses, etc. are all invited to participate. In addition to bands within the Cherokee County School District, other local and regional bands are invited to participate.

Jolly along with members of Gaffney City Council, and the Blacksburg High School Band, and the Clemson Tiger.
All other entries will assemble on a first arrive, first in line basis. All horses and horse-drawn carriages need to line up at the end of the parade.
