First case of Influenza A has been detected in S.C.
      COLUMBIA - Influenza, or "the flu," has officially arrived in South Carolina, the state Department of Health and Environmental Control has reported. "The first case of Influenza A virus has been detected by the Medical University of South Carolina in a Charleston County resident," said Jennifer Meredith, Ph.D., of DHEC's Division of Diagnostic Microbiology.
