Hazel Sellars
Hazel Hughey Sellars, 69, of 121 Meadow Lane, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Fingerville, she was the wife of Ray Dean Sellars and daughter of the late Andrew Bonner Hughey and the late Alma Parris Willis and stepdaughter of the late Rev. C.E. Willis. She was retired from the textile industry, was a former manager of Cherokee Food Mart and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, Rick Jolley and wife, Donna, of Shelby, Snake Sellars and wife, Hoppy, Rudy Sellars and wife, Yvette, Fatman Sellars and Jeff Garland, all of Gaffney; a daughter, Cindy Ellis and husband, Sidney, of Gaffney; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, David Hughey and wife, Margie, and Jimmy Hughey and wife, Carolyn, all of Blacksburg; three sisters, Betty Parris and husband, Leroy, of Chesnee, Dana Scruggs and husband, Mike, of Gaffney, and Debra Adams of Blacksburg; and a special friend, Shirley Fuller.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Patty Cooper and Deana Jolley; a son, Doug Sellars; a sister, Elsie Sellars; five brothers, Marshall Hughey, Wilburn Hughey, Howard Hughey, Hubert Hughey and Harlan Hughey.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with the Revs. Delos Blanton and Richard Sellars officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
