Employed with Dixie Lawn

BLACKSBURG - Walter Edgar Gordon, 52, of 208 Wilkins Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at his home.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late John Henry Gordon and Lois Easler Gordon and stepson of the late Lydia Easler Gordon. He was employed with Dixie Lawn and was of the Church of God faith.

Surviving are three brothers, Henry Gordon and wife, Vickie, of Kentucky, Billy Ray Gordon and wife, Teresa, of Gaffney and Wayne Gordon and wife, Bederia, also of Gaffney; seven sisters, Eula Crawhorn of Indiana, Mildred Carmack of Gaffney, Gathia Sheehan of Illinois, Ethel Rumfelt of Blacksburg, Lydia Henderson and husband, Ken, of Gaffney, Ruby Scruggs and husband, E.L., of Gaffney and Rachel Brindle of Rock Hill; and numerous nieces nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis Gordon and Niles Gordon, and two sisters, Pearl Arrowood and Frances Gordon.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at Frederick Memorial Gardens with the Revs. James Garner and Gary Bell officiating.
