The GHS wrestling team celebrates after its second-place finish at the Devil Dogs Duals on Saturday. Gaffney's wrestling match against T.L. Hanna came down to this on Monday: Randy Hopson needed a victory to seal a win for the Indians.

Hopson did just that with a secondperiod pin after falling behind 6-2. The pin gave the Indians a 41-35 victory.

"We needed Randy to win and he did," Gaffney assistant coach Dave Bush said.

Hopson improves his record to 10-1 with the pin. But Hopson wasn't the only bright spot for the surging Indians.

Chis Perry (189 lbs.), James Costello (285 lbs.), Blake Phillips (112 lbs.) and Dillon Haney (119 lbs.) also posted pins for the Indians.

Stan Easterling won by technical fall in the 215 lb. weight division.

Gaffney also got points with a forfeit at 125 lbs.

Gaffney improves its overall record to 9-2. The Indians return to the mat on Saturday at the Ashbrook Duals in Gastonia, N.C.
