City OKs Chick-fil-A plans
Restaurant will include an indoor playground.
Residents apparently won't have to wait that much longer before sampling the menu at a local Chick-fil-A. The City of Gaffney Building Department has approved the building plans for the proposed 4,400- square-foot restaurant, Gaffney Zoning Administrator Tony Lavender said. The plans show the restaurant will include an indoor playground. "It will be comparable to the Chick-fil-A on the east side of Spartanburg," Lavender said. The project had been delayed while developers brought their plans into compliance with state Department of Health and Environmental Control stormwater guidelines, according to Lavender. Plans call for the restaurant to be located on a parcel on West Floyd Baker Boulevard, Maple Drive and Panaview Road. The restaurant will front Maple Drive but there also will be access to the site from Floyd Baker Boulevard. The restaurant owner is apparently leasing the property from landowner George Horne since there is no evidence at the Cherokee County Clerk of Courts or tax assessor offices that the parcel changed ownership. Lavender said he has no idea when the developer plans to break ground on the project. The Brentwood, Tenn.-based firm of Edwards and Hotchkiss is the project architect. |
