BLACKSBURG - Lucille Thomas White, 95, of 323 Whites Farm Road, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of York County, she was the widow of Theron White and daughter of the late Robert Horton and Bessie Ashe Thomas. She was a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. Mrs. White loved to quilt. Surviving are a son, Donald White of Manning; a daughter, Jo Ann Hardin of Blacksburg; three brothers, Leroy Thomas of Hickory Grove, Marshall Thomas of York and Raymond Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Ruby Blackwelder of Rock Hill, Erma Rockholt of Gainesville, Va., and Lillian Hullett of York; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. White was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy White and Douglas White; a grandson, Thomas White Jr.; three brothers, Robert Thomas, Howard Thomas and Miller Thomas; and two sisters, Olive Thomas and Margaret Bultman. Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with Dr. Charles E. Moss officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence of her daughter, 146 Woodhaven Lane, Blacksburg. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 403 W.
