Merry Christmas from the governor and family

Dear Editor:

This time of year offers each of us a chance like no other to refocus on what is really important in life — things like spending time with friends and family, and giving to others.

There are some profound needs that exist in our state, and I'd urge every South Carolinian who is able to do what they can in making someone else's holiday season a little brighter.

Carrying that spirit through the Christmas season and into the New Year will go a long way toward creating a better South Carolina.

So on behalf of Jenny, the boys and me, I want to wish every single South Carolinian Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and many blessings in the year to come.

Gov. Mark Sanford

Columbia, S.C.
