She is the daughter of Billy and Paula Richards of Gaffney, and has three brothers, Casey, Colby, and Caden. Maternal grandparents are Alan and Kathy Cooper, and Elam and Susan Scruggs, all of Boiling Springs, N.C. Paternal grandparents are Bill and Cathy Richards of Gaffney. Maternal great-grandparents are John and Rachel Phillips, and Maida Scruggs, all of Boiling Springs, N.C., and the late Horace Scruggs.
