POLICE REPORT

Almost $4,000 in cash and checks were reported stolen from a delivery truck while it was making a stop on South Logan Street on Dec. 18.

According to the Gaffney Police Department, the driver of a General Wholesale truck stopped at 406 S. Logan St. on Dec. 18 at about 12:10 p.m. When the driver returned to his truck he discovered that someone had taken $2,032 in cash and $1,650 in checks from the cab. The vehicle was unlocked, according to police.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was asked to investigate the theft of more than $1,000 in appliances and furniture from a 3rd Avenue home recently.

According to a police report, the owner of the home said appliances, electronics and furniture were missing after the occupant moved out of the home in the 100 block under eviction orders.

A thief or thieves stole a video game system from a Union Highway home Dec. 16 during a burglary.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced open a door to a home in the 2400 block between 5:15 a.m. and 3 p.m. The only item reported missing was an Xbox 360 video game system valued at $400.

About $2,000 in damage was reported at a Song Bird Lane home on Dec. 16 after someone threw an object through a kitchen window.

According to a report at the Cherokee County Sheriff 's Office, the incident occurred at about 2 p.m. Someone threw a "large object" through a kitchen window, breaking the window as well as a computer screen inside the home.

The Gaffney Police Department is investigating a Dec. 16 burglary on Broad Street.

According to a police report, four people kicked in the rear door of a home in the 600 block between 10:45 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. and broke several items, including glass vases, a door, a window and a big-screen television. A cell phone was reported stolen from the home as well. The burglars reportedly fled the scene in a white early 1990s model Lincoln Town Car. Police said they recovered blood evidence from a screen door as well as an empty can of beer from a counter top.

Four suspect names were listed in the police report but no arrests had been reported as of Dec. 19.

About $600 in cash was reported stolen from a Bolin Road, Blacksburg, home following a Dec. 18 burglary.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, someone forced entry into the home in the 100 block between 4:30 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. Dec. 18 by breaking out a window. Window damage was estimated at $50.

A burglary was reported in the 100 block of Edgewood Drive in Gaffney on Dec. 18.

The Cherokee County Sheriff 's Office reported that someone gained entry to the home by unknown means some time between 4:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.. Once inside, the burglar(s) rummaged through prescription medication. Nothing was reported stolen, however.

A television and propane tanks were stolen from a home on McEntire Drive in Blacksburg on Dec. 18.

Someone entered the home in the 100 block between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., the home owner told the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. A television valued at $1,500 and two propane tanks valued at $44 were missing.

A truck was reported stolen from the parking lot of Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. on Hyatt Street on Dec. 18.

According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, a white 1999 Dodge extended cab pickup with a chrome strip along the bottom of the truck was taken from the employee parking lot between 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The truck, owned by a Blacksburg man, is valued at $5,500.
