House painter

Maynard Eugene Duncan, 60, of 208 Van Buren St., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the widower of Anita Rankin Duncan and son of the late William Daniel Duncan and Hettie Mode Duncan. He was a house painter and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Angela Duncan of Gaffney; three grandchildren, William "Billy" Duncan, Kaylee Duncan and Hunter Duncan, all of Gaffney; a brother, George Walker and wife, Cathy, of Rock Hill; three sisters, Wilma Duncan of Blacksburg, Brenda Matson and husband, Monte, of Gaffney and Shirley Satterfield and husband, Doyle, of Walterboro; and a very special friend, Beverly Stroupe.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by a brother, David Walker.

The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 26, from 12-2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ashby Blakely officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, 380 Serpentine Drive, Suite 200, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

The family will be at the residence.
