Thomas Michael Owens, 46, of 1440 Goucher School Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at his residence.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of Eugene Owens and Barbara Painter Owens. He was employed by Warco Construction as a foreman and was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Shannon Owens and wife, Keilah, of Spartanburg; a grandchild, Kylie Owens; a brother, Billy Owens and wife, Sarah, of Kings Mountain, N.C.; and a sister, Lorene Byars and husband, Keith, of Gaffney.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 3 p.m. in Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Ramsey officiating. Visitation was held from 1-2:30 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Johns Baptist Church Building Fund, 132 Quarter Round Road, Pacolet, SC 29372.

The family is at the home of Eugene and Barbara Owens, 1466 Goucher School Road.
